La tennista azzurra, testa di serie numero 17 sulla terra rossa di Parigi, ha eliminato la russa Maria Kirilenko (N.30) in due set con il punteggio di 6-4, 6-4.
La Schiavone al prossimo turno incontrerà la Wozniacki che ha eliminato Flavia Pennetta.
